First of all, I'd like to thank, and acknowledge, the forum Administrator/Owner - Tom aka geteurdone and other names that can't be repeated here http://thechallengerforum.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif - for inviting me over to the Charger Forum and for providing a cool community for all you Charger owners!

A little about me:

My screen name is MADDOG, real name is Michael. (Don't call me Mike - I won't respond http://thechallengerforum.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif). I live in Oregon but am not a Charger owner, rather I have another LX, a Chrysler 300C SRT8. I am married to my best friend, Cindy, and we have 4 grandchildren.

I am a Director with an electric utility here in the Northwest and our operations are located in six (6) Western States. After 28 years with that company I am just about ready to retire and focus on my second career...being lazy...LOL

I'm very active on quite a few forums and have a lot of fun with our local LX community members.

I currently own:

1. The Chrysler 300 SRT8
2. A 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 extended cab.
3. A 1970 -1/2 NovaSS

and I've owned a lot of other vehicles in my many years. http://thechallengerforum.com/images/smilies/th_old.gif

Here's some pics of the 300, the Ram and the Nova:

Here's my previous ride, a 1995 Chevrolet ImpalaSS, which was taken from me in 2007, which led me in a search for another V8, RWD sedan and my ultimate purchase of the 300 SRT8:

I'm here, primarily, to share the videos I create using HAZMAN's awesome renders and other videos I create or have downloaded that are primarily of vehicle content.

So check out the new "MADDOG Productions" section here on the forum. I'll be posting up videos there very soon.

Thanks for having me!

Michael

Huh? the multi quote or quick reply? still don't see it.
right now the edit option is set for one hour after posting, so after that time the edit button disappears and only the staff can edit after that point

So Maddog, what color do they call that on your wheels? Looks Hot on silver.

MADDOG
05-09-2009, 08:44 PM
It's a powdercoat called "Silvervein" from Cardinal Industrial Finishes, Matt. It's black and silver all veined together (think tightly veined marble) on the face and pockets of the stock 20" 300 SRT8 wheels, with a gloss black on the back and inside the barrel. All covered with at 2 mil clearcoat.

Thanks for the complement.

Wow thats wild, sounds expensive.

MADDOG
05-09-2009, 11:12 PM
Less than $90 a wheel, Matt. :)

Matt400

Thats very reasonable and probably more durable than the painted offerings out there. I was looking into these: http://www.challengeralloys.com/custom_finishes.php or these: http://www.factoryreproductions.com/wheels.php?co=dodge&wheel=3
with painted pockets.

I took a look at the company that did yours and saved the info..thanks.

You're welcome. Replica Wheels makes some nice stuff. There are several 300 owners running their 22" SRT replicas.

I see ChallengerToys has a powdercoating option for their wheels. USW makes some awesome forged wheels as well. I saw some of their wheels on Challys at the LX Spring Festival this year.

I was surprised how many powdercoat shops use Cardinal Finishes and you are right, powdercoating is very durable!
